Commons-Posting

We thought we felt a little guiltier throwing away half our Commons meal, but we couldn’t put our finger on it. Then we realized, holy cow! This isn’t a normal trash can! Is Penn Dining finally composting!?

According to this DP article, Bon Appetit is using this week to make people feel really terrible about how much food they’re throwing away by measuring the waste, in pounds, that comes out of our dining halls. But here’s the best part: they actually plan to keep a composting program after this week of awareness. It’s not perfect, and it took ‘em long enough, but we’re just glad to see composting finally here. Viva la green!
