It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and we all know it would be stupid to throw yourselves into the festivities without a plan. We’ve compiled a guide to happenings on and around campus today so you can plan your perfect pub crawl. For those of you who are looking to switch it up a bit, we’ve got a list of off-campus spots that might be more to your liking, although they may not be offering any special deals. Take a look, or resign yourself to a lot of aimless wandering (which will probably also be fun).
For the campus-bound traditionalist:
The Blarney Stone: Kegs and eggs starting at 10 (free breakfast!), $2.50 pounders all day, $6.50 Irish car bombs until 3, and cheap grill-eats all afternoon. Drinking game paraphernalia will also be provided.
There’s more after the jump.
Blockley PourHouse: $5 Bud Light pitchers, $2 Miller High Life bottles, and $2 well drinks all day.
Cavanaugh’s: $2 Miller High Life pints.
Drinker’s: $.75 Miller High Life bottles, $1 Rolling Rock, $3 shots of Soco Lime and Cuervo.
For the off-campus type:
The Irish Pub (2007 Walnut St.): It’s an Irish pub. It’s pretty nearby. Need we say more? It’s bound to be hoppin’.
Fado (1500 Locust St.): Start the morning off right with the breakfast of champions: pints and free pancakes. Live music and Irish festivities (like pipers and traditional Irish dancers) all day and into the night.
For the sober and charitable:
Rotaract’s St. Patrick’s Day Fundraiser: Rotaract will be selling St. Patrick’s Day and Ireland themed clothing all day in Houston Hall to raise money for a health center in Uganda. You can pick up some pub-crawl appropriate duds and donate to a good cause all in the same transaction.
