The ignorance underlying Finkelstein’s post should have been cured by the Omnivores Dilemma: the disconnect between modern urbanites and the food they eat has risen to such unfortunate levels that participating in the lower-level processes of food production now seems worthy of mockery. Enjoy your highly-processed meals, Finkelstein, and don’t bother wondering where they came from or what kind of labor helped produce them.
