Saxbys Tries, Fails To Be Trendy

Though we laud Saxbys’ effort to appeal to the celiacs and gluten free fetishists among us, this sign is a sight for sore stomachs. It’s with a heavy heart (and a slightly less dazzling bedazzled mug) that we say: Saxbys–do less.

Seriously UTB? You’re going to make fun of a cafe offering more options for people with celiac disease? Wow.
While yeah, offering more options for people with celiac is totally laudable, misspelling gluten is totally laughable. Take a deep breath. Appreciate the humor.
OK, I understand that the sign has the incorrect spelling of “gluten”. But this should not make the news.
But when you wrote, “Fails to be trendy”? Really? There are people who have food allergies who are really limited in what they can eat, and having certain foods available that are safe to eat is a big deal to them.
A little team work and this slip up was quickly fixed :) Go Saxbys UPenn! https://twitter.com/#!/Saxbys/status/159329182713774080/photo/1
@LAUREN
Yay! No hard feelings, of course.
what is this saxbys? do you mean bucks county coffee?
Oh gosh people with their food allergies. I think it’s trendy now to have food allergies. First it was the peanut thing. For years no one talked about peanuts. Then suddenly no one could eat peanuts in planes because of the peanut allergy people. Now it’s gluten, great. If being allergic to meat is next then those people better keep silent.
