Man Killed At 39th And Market– Around 4 p.m. today, an unidentified man was found dead in his home at 39th and Market, as the DP reports. The 21-year-old suffered from two bullet wounds to the head. DPS has confirmed the incident and the Philadelphia Police Department will be leading an investigation on the matter.

And why would Penn send out such an alert? If you’re a Penn student, you know what happens in that area. Everyone knows. If you want some weed, or something else, and you want to feel a gritty urban thrill, you go to 40th and Market. So, I’ll give you even money this killing had something to do with dope. As such, Penn students needn’t worry unless they’re considering the University City Townhomes for student housing.

My lifestyle at Penn doesn’t involve illegal drug sales, and therefore, I’m not incredibly concerned when some poison peddler gets shot by a competitor…or confederate.
