(The) Who Is Coming To Campus?!
If you were living under a rock this summer and didn’t get a chance to watch the London Olympics, you probably missed The Who perform the finale at the closing ceremonies.
Here’s your chance to see them! (sorta.) Pete Townshend, guitar-smashing lead singer of The Who, will be speaking tonight at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. Unfortunately, tickets are already sold out, but call before the event to find out about last-minute releases.
Townshend will be signing copies of his new autobigraphy, but he’s not posing for photos. Sorry–we’re not gonna take it. So spot him today on Locust wandering the teenage wasteland, and send us pics!

Sorry to miss this – guess I didn’t notice when tix were on sale. BTW, small correction – Townshend was the guitarist, but not the lead singer – that was Roger Daltrey.
Why weren’t we told about this sooner???
what? UTB, why you so late?!
Emeli Sande, who also performed at the closing ceremony, will be performing at the Theater of the Living Arts in Philly.
It was not a Penn event, it was a Free Library event; they get great speakers all of the time but often do not publicize their events. Check out their website. And BTW, Pete performed 4 songs and it was AMAZING. Those of us who bought his new book got to meet him. It was a dream come true.
