South Korea Is Here To Chat

At this point, we’re not even surprised that the Ambassador from South Korea, Han Duk-soo, has decided to give a speech in College Hall 200 today at 2 p.m. Update: Oops! Little switch in the program— instead we got the Consulate General for Korea in NY, Young-Mon Kim. He used to be an Ambassador though, so still really cool. The rest of the post still applies.

He’s talking about the changing relations between US and Asia and what he sees as challenges and benefits, but more importantly, he’ll also be discussing what it’s like to be a am-badass-ador (work with us here). Hopefully he’ll touch on the coolest thing he’s done with his diplomatic immunity.

Hey, we just need one more famous speaker for Penn to earn the Celebrity Badge!

From Salt Lake To Shanghai

Jon M. Huntsman, Jr. — governor of Utah, son of that Huntsman, and proud Penn pop — is expected to be named the U.S. ambassador to China today. Interestingly, Huntsman became fluent in Mandarin during his Mormon mission to Taiwan (just like some other Penn students we know).
