It’s official! Your cab fare to the nearest Shake Shack will be nearly halved as of late summer/early fall, when the newest link in the NY burger chain will make its home at 32nd and Chestnut.
If you’ve been taking SEPTA all this time, however, your trip will still cost the same amount. Sorry.
Shake Shack Opened Today -- and the line was
around the block at the 20th and Sansom outpost. If you're in Philly, make the trek to Rittenhouse and try the "
Liberty Shell" for yourself. While you're in line, just remember: patience is a virtue.
Look at trendy Philly making some moves (and shaking things up) with the arrival of Shake Shack to town! Next Wednesday, after nearly a year-long wait, the Big Apple’s hottest burgers and shakes stand will be opening up its doors on 20th and Sansom, by Rittenhouse Square. It’s the perfect location, considering its customized menu which will feature some Philly-themed “Concretes” (blended frozen custard), including the “Rittenhouse,” “Center City Pretzel,” and “Liberty Shell.”
For those of you without an internship not in NYC or Philly this summer, check out the Miami or D.C. Shake Shack and let us know how it is.
Shake Shack, the burger and milkshake joint that first began in the Big Apple, is finally joining us in the City of Brotherly Love. It’s about time! Owners have selected the prime location of 20th and Sansom to house the highly awaited crowd pleaser.
Unfortunately, the gastronomic haven will not be opening until “the second half of 2012.” Seniors, looks like you’ll have to get your burger and shake fix elsewhere, unless you’re down to travel to one of Shake Shack’s – count ‘em – fourteen other locations.
Sometimes, relying on Daddy’s credit card can get so old. Luckily, Bobby Flay can spice up your wallet and help you flash two new pieces of plastic!
The first is a pretty standard BBP Rewards card, which hooks you up with a free entree after every $100 spent. Cool, except we kind of feel like the free burger won’t ease the pain of realizing you’ve spend over $100 on burgers.
The second is even more exciting, but, ooh, elusive. According to B-Flay’s Twitter, he’ll be at the store today handing out “a black card for a free brgr of the month for any month.” We’re not sure where the vowels in “burger” went, but we’re ready to move past that if we can get in on the action.
Several tipsters have sent us pictures of the newly erected sign outside the Radian, where Bobby’s Burger Palace is rumored to be opening the first week in April. The joint is owned by famed chef Bobby Flay, who seems to love his own name almost as much as a certain UA Prez contender. Personally, we’re especially excited about the Burger of the Month which promises to be the perfect cure for any hangover stress.
Holy Cow! Remember the mythical, rumored burger joint Bobby Flay was maybe going to open in the Radian? Turns out it is totally happening. No one seems to have any dates, but such is the saga of most Radian retail.
Although we will probably have graduated about three years before Bobby’s Burger Palace opens, we will still pretend to be really excited! Mostly because we read on the BBP website that “Bobby also reminds you to get your burger crunchified, which means to top any BBP burger with crisp potato chips at no additional cost.”

Feed me, I'm hungry.
Way back in April, Philly.com reported that Stephen Starr signed on to open a seasonal burger shack in Franklin Square. In May, Starr set up a temporary shack, providing a limited menu to impatient burgerphiles. Today, the real deal opened.
While the expanded menu offers hot-dogs, fries, sundaes, shakes, salads and more, the true testament to Squareburger’s success will be in the burger. So, head on down to Franklin Square and let us know just how tasty those burgers are.
