Cupmakes Goes Terrestrial

While few things are more convenient than getting cupcakes delivered right to your door, Cupmakes is banking on South Street foot traffic to make their latest venture a success. Tomorrow they open a bricks-and-mortar incarnation of their make-your-own-cupcake concept at 2nd and South. They’ve added new bases, icing flavors and toppings, and have even begun including Philadelphia Brewing Co. beer in a some of their batter.

Penn’s New Years Resolutions

Happy new year!  We’re either about 20 hours late on this, or we opted to hold off calling the new year until the majority of precincts were reporting, CNN-style.  Either way, a happy and a healthy to you and yours.  Instead of looking backwards, we’re looking ahead to Spring ‘09, which begins in just two short weeks!  Or less than that, actually.  But still way later than the Obama girls, who report to Sidwell Friends on Monday. (Suckers.)

We’ve made the following resolutions on behalf of Penn:

Watch the VP Debate And Eat Away Your Disappointed Feelings

Oh cupcake, the spirit of our nation rests in your fluffy sweetness.

The Vice Presidential Debate tonight between Senator Joe Biden and Governor Sarah Palin will probably be really uncomfortable to watch — unless you enjoy hearing now-meaningless buzzwords tossed around like frisbees.

Luckily an email in my inbox will save our evening: 3 free Cupmake cupcakes with any order placed between 8-11 PM tonight through Campusfood.com! You know it was a glorious cupcake that rejuvenated Palin’s spirits after her interview with Katie Couric, and if it can work for her, it can certainly work for us. Or something like that.
