For all you Quakers still on campus, some exciting news: best-selling author David Sedaris is slated to make an appearance at the Penn Bookstore TOMORROW to promote his new book, Let’s Explore Diabetes With Owls.
Sedaris’ latest work is a collection of essays that discuss his childhood, his hometown, health, partner and politics. You may know some of them already if you follow his often-hilarious musings.
So head on over to the Penn Bookstore next week and do something intellectual (book not screen!) for a change.
We know that maintaining such ~impressive~ grades is expensive: late-night espresso shots to get you through that Huntsman all-nighter really add up. Alas, Penn Bookstore to the rescue! Just give ‘em your “Best Piece of Advice” and you could win a $50 gift card as part of the Time to Shine Sweepstakes. What kind of advice are they looking for? And what exactly is the Time to Shine Sweepstakes? We have no idea. But there’s money involved, so who really cares.
Calling All "Prostitution Whores"–
"Real Housewives of New Jersey" and "Celebrity Apprentice" humanlike Vessel of Evil Teresa Giudice
will be visiting the Penn Bookstore on June 13th
to sign copies of her new cookbook Fabulicious!: Fast & Fit
, because why not? Mark your calendars now, friends!
Just one night after Dan Savage spoke at Zellerbach, the LGBT activist cruised on down to American University for a little chat as well…and showed up wearing this fine piece of Penn apparel. Looks like someone might have under-packed for his college tour. We just hope he didn’t recycle his
That epically unsinkable disasterpiece Titanic is coming out in 3D on April 4th and the Penn Bookstore has started to capitalize on the re-release with this tasting menu of books. Let your heart go on and on and on, etc., etc., etc. if you’re into that.
Wish you could walk around with pom poms all day long but don’t have a free hand? With some help from these snazzy bookstore gloves, you can now have the thrill of Penn pride right at your fingertips. Get them while they’re hot (and your hands are cold) because there are only two pairs left.
You’re broke. We get it. That doesn’t mean you’ll need to skimp on buying gifts this time of year because bursar’s coming to the rescue!
Penn Flying Colors Scarf and Shelter Ribbed Hat
On your bursar-funded shopping spree, you can’t pass this combo up. At the listed price, we can only assume that these gifts are made of unicorn hair and hand-sewn by Amy herself. So give the Gutmanniac in your life something special– and when mom asks what you bought at the bookstore, tell her it was a textbook!
We’ve got more gifts for you to add to your shopping list after the jump!
Are you feeling inspired? Are your creative juices flowing and overflowing? You’re in luck, because the College Dean’s Advisory Board College T-Shirt Contest is BACK. Here’s your chance to be a real life designer! And also to win a $100 gift certificate to the Penn Bookstore if your Bursar account is hurting.
Logistics, Details, Rules, etc.:
- You must be an undergraduate in the College to submit a design.
- The design must somehow relate to “The College” (as in not Penn as a whole)
- AND, the design must include Penn colors. For which there is an official website.
- Designs can be submitted by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org from now through January 16, 2012 (ahh! 2012!)
- Designs will be voted on by the whole entire College and the winning design may be sold in the bookstore!
The T-shirt design that won the College Apparel Contest is available for sale today in the Penn Bookstore. But wait, there’s more! In addition to this year’s winning design, the winning design from last year will also be made available again.
Check out this year’s winner below, and last year’s revival after the jump. Feel free to click on the pics to get a closer look at the designs.
