Dean Furda on the Today Show!

Swoon. Everyone’s favorite Dean of Admissions got up close and personal with the one and only Al Roker this morning on Today, discussing the college search. He positively rocked a RED AND BLUE tie and told Al he loves when prospies are “relaxed.” As if anyone could be relaxed around Eric Furda. He also recommended touring high schoolers find out where students “hang out,” effortlessly identifying Locust Walk as Penn’s social hub. So in tune with student life! Check out the clip above, complete with footage of Houston and College Green. We might have preferred he chat with Kathie Lee & Hoda on Today‘s fourth hour, at least Al said he wants his 10-year-old in the “UPenn” Class of 2025 (!).

People Who Went To Penn And Made Out With Larry David: Rebecca Creskoff

Our favorite part of any Curb episode is when Larry David makes out with someone, so this week was a special treat: the object of  his affection is a Penn alum! Rebecca Creskoff  has been in a whole bunch of random TV stuff including Law and Order, The West Wing, Mad Men, and Hannah Montana so it was about time she made this bold step forward. It’s no surprise TV-Rebecca has rolled with badasses, presidents, misogynists, pop stars and Larry David; those seem to be the ideal lifestyles of any Penn student.

Why Wharton’s Shoutout on Monday’s Gossip Girl Was A BFD

From Amy G in a tweet from Arianna Huffington and the Engineering school’s scary acrobatic builder bots on Stephen Colbert’s ThreatDown, Penn has enjoyed quite a spell basking in the attention of the national media. But while Penn seems to be appropriately prominent in the realms of news and reality-based television, our alma mater remains relatively irrelevant to mainstream pop culture. Or, at least, until this past Monday.

Raina Thorpe, a brand new character revealed on this week’s “Gossip Girl,” went to Wharton. An inevitable love interest for Chuck Bass and the daughter of a billionaire being positioned to do financial battle with the Bass/Van Der Woodsen family — Raina is the kind of character that it isn’t hard to imagine prancing down Locust, having to make the impossible decision between Theta and Tabard and eventually being a shoe-in for Wharton’s notoriously Scene-y Lantern Senior Society. But what’s so great about that? Read the rest of this entry »

TiVo The Price Is Right For Us Tomorrow-- because Wharton senior Deb Reich will be on the show! It airs at 11 a.m., so hopefully we'll be able to bring you highlights later in the day.
