Okay, so the weather hasn’t been consistently sundressy, with major yo-yoing between what feels like brisk March and summer…but as we near May (and finals), Penn is looking sexy, no matter the temperature. (Yesterday, we only needed a light jacket. So there’s that.) Your submissions were erotic and exotic, so be prepared to get turned on looking at your snapshots of our stunning campus.
Thanks to photographic visionaries Olivia Rabe, Sophia Ciocca, Matthew Triano, Corey Bassett, Shira Papir, Nicole Woon and Allie Volinsky. Hover over the pictures for enlarged images and photo credz. College Hall and the cherry blossoms were extra on-trend this spring season, and Instagram did not dominate submissions by any means!
Mother Nature is doing her annual “I’m taking off my clothes, wanna peek?”-thing right now, and for the past few weeks, we’ve been smitten with the crunchy leaves, the brisk [insert pluralized time of day here], the pumpkin-spiced [insert JAPpy drinks here] and the crisp [insert bangs that Kathy Najimy sports in Disney's "Hocus Pocus" here]. It’s a party, y’all, and we’re all invited! To celebrate the season, send us your best autumnal pictures by this Thursday and we’ll post our favorites by the start of the Fall Break. And remember the golden rule of photography: you don’t NEED to Instagram it.
We asked, and you sent! Yup, spring is well upon us, and luckily for the Penn community, some of you have a good eye for spotting how beautiful campus is at this time of year. We’ve highlighted just a sampling of our favorites (choosing was very hard, mind you) so you can enjoy them as much as we do.
If you’d like us to feature your lovely spring photos, tweet your pics at us throughout the day and we’ll retweet you. In the meantime, put away your phone and stop looking at your feet on your walk to class– you’re missing more than you know!
Campus is buzzing with the sounds and smells of Spring and it is b-e-a-utiful outside! Look at this vintage pic from March 1989. Look at it! Pretty snazzy, right? If you’d like to get in on the pretty pic action, send us your best photos of Spring on campus and we’ll post our favorites later in the week, like last semester. Got it? Cool. You could be a star!
Yesterday we asked for your pretty fall photos, and here’s what we’ve got! These shots prove that campus is just as beautiful as anywhere else, and probably more so. Thanks to everyone who helped out!
Missed your chance to send pictures in? Tweet them at us and we’ll retweet you all day. And if you’ve still got a hankerin’ for Penn in her prime (looking at you, abroad kids) ogle the Office of University Communication’s collection here.
Campus was abuzz on Friday with word of the Google Street View tricycle rolling down Locust, and apparently, this was actually kind of a big deal. Turns out Penn teamed up with Google for this three-wheeled adventure in an apparent ploy to show off all the nooks and crannies of campus that aren’t accessible by car. As Marie Witt, the Penn spokesperson in the video below gushes, “It sounds a little odd to say, but Penn loves its campus.” The PennPorn habit, after all, must be fed.
As the incoming freshmen anxiously await their housing assignments, us upperclassmen are feeling a bit nostalgic. We’ve reported on the Penn YouTube channel before, but we came across this video just recently. Maybe we’re huge nerds at UTB, but this clip gives us goosebumps (well, up until the five minute mark, when it becomes a fundraising plea). The shots of the Quad! And College Hall! And all the smart people! And the music! You’re killing us, Amy.
