POLL: Is It Really Time To Shine?

537092_10200276311662918_1652167185_nBelieve us, we couldn’t be prouder of Madame President’s fundraising success, surpassing the goal and making over $4.3 billion for Penn’s Making History campaign. And with all the hullabaloo surrounding the Fling concert, many students didn’t attend (or don’t remember) Friday night at Franklin Field. So we’re extra-pumped for John Legend and Train at Penn Park (fo free!) this Friday.

That said…Locust has gotten QUITE the makeover today, and we’re not sure how to feel about its new decked-out Time to Shine look. Our beloved walk feels less like the architecturally stunning main artery of campus, what with its multicolored kites and massive circular signs for each of Penn’s schools. So, is it all just a bit too extravagant?

What's your opinion of Locust's "Time to Shine" makeover?

What sorts of things, exactly, is what we’d like to know so we can post the stuff that you’re gonna find worthwhile. After all, why would we post cool Philly summer events if no one’s gonna be there? A World Without ABP

The DP today says that there’s a chance chametz-haven ABP could be kicked out of Huntsman in 2012. What could possibly go in its place? What other restaurant can fuel MBAs and offer such amenities as being totally easy to steal from?

If ABP stays, the article says, we’d get a make-your-own salad bar, coconut water, and new seating, in addition to vague stuff like “delicious food” and “engaging service.” Since ABP has recently replaced the chilled lattes with some bullshit lemonade, we’re really not sure of their chances at this point.

What do you think?

Do you want ABP replaced?

Bubble Tea Blowout

Everyone’s been all a-tizzy about TBowl serving Boba Bros, but then out of nowhere Beijing was like, “yo, we have bubble tea too!” And they have flavors! And it’s only $2 (for now, anyways)!

So now we don’t know what to think. Which neighbor is better? TBowl has the authentic plastic-wrap top. Beijing is cheaper, but also it’s Beijing so we don’t really trust it even if it’s apparently, um, also Boba Bros.

There’s only one thing left to do– let you decide! Tell us which you like better, and feel free to defend your choices in the comments.

Update: Beijing bubble tea is not Boba Bros as previously stated. Tipsters, stop leading us astray!

….And Then Things Got A Little Weird

With election season in full swing, it’s no surprise that tensions are running high amongst candidates. Thankfully, perennial stud-gov celeb Jake Shuster and n00b Kate Ham have both taken the “I’m-gonna-make-you-laugh-uncomfortably” road when it comes to campaigning to get us into the voting spirit. We prefer Jake’s bold lack of pants over Kate’s unfortunate pun. What do you think?

Which is weirder?
