In Which We Melt Over Puppies

LOOK AT THAT FACE

Please excuse us while we pull ourselves together.

There were puppies in the Rodin rooftop lounge today! There were so many of them, and they were very cute. They came from the Vet School’s VetPet animal therapy program, which according to one of the volunteers generally visits the Ronald McDonald House about once a month and brings adorableness and cheer to everyone everywhere. Whoever came up with the brilliant idea that stressed out college students could use some pet therapy deserves a promotion and a raise.

Here is what Christina Bach, who is in charge of these kinds of programs at the Vet School, had to say about the event:

“Having an animal companion around you de-escalates blood pressure, lowers stress hormone levels and gives an all-around good feeling to people. On Saturday we want to help Penn students take a break from their studies for just one hour and invite them to unwind with some animal interaction.”

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

In Case You Missed It: The One In Which Dogs Are Better Than People

Check out this amazing footage of a dog, despite the danger, helping out one of its kind…

… and compare it to this footage from June 2008, in which onlookers do nothing to help the 78 year old victim after a horrible hit-and-run incident.

How Much Is That Doggie On The Internet?

The final push at the end of the semester is a stressful time. The due date for the paper you’ve been putting off is drawing closer and your last midterms are finally in sight. Even if you don’t have intense coursework, the thought of Thanksgiving with your family, which means the endless “What are you majoring in? Really? Wow. And what do you plan to do with a degree in (insert humanities discipline here)?”, is enough to give you migraines.

Nobody likes being stressed, but at Penn, it’s inevitable. And now that the election is over, you can’t count on any any new video clips of Sarah Palin’s verbal gaffs to calm you down. But never fear, for we have found a solution for your rising blood pressure: live, streaming puppies.

Seriously, these dogs are the cutest things ever (though I find them considerably more adorable with the sound turned off). Even when they’re simply lying around doing nothing, you’re still watching cute puppies.

So a big thanks to the people whoring their puppies out for the rest of us. Because of your dogs, we will all sleep a bit more soundly at night.

And while we’re on the subject of puppies, the following video isn’t live, but it never fails to amuse us:
