We’ve discussed how Penn grad Drew Crockett opened Hub Bub Coffee today, but we had to stop by 38th and Spruce ourselves to try this new food truck to rival all other coffee trucks present a new java option. The line wasn’t this long, but they were already out of muffins by the time we got there. Luckily, our croissants were tasty and the coffee hit the spot. The upbeat music and perky staff added to the excitement and was especially impressive given the early time we visited. Although Drew doesn’t believe his Penn degree will guarantee him success (how refreshing!), he feels that his truck fills a void in dining options at Penn. And we agree. As word gets around and the weather gets even colder, this truck could soon become all the rage, nay, hubbub.

Remember that Mike Jones song, “Still Tippin”? We hope it gets stuck in your head and its chorus acts as a little string on your finger that reminds you to always send us cool info. Houston rap: chopped and screwed and so helpful! Recently, you readers were tippin’ that Au Bon Pain added tasty frozen watermelon lemonade to its menu, so needless to say (more like seedless to say lol), we had to investigate.

We were surprised to learn they use real watermelons chunks. We know this because we had to retrieve them from the fruit shelf. Not that we’re complaining – we are more than willing to cooperate in the creation of a potentially delicious beverage – but we did kind of think the watermelon flavor would be more like this.
