Welcome back to UTB Love Week! In preparation for the big pink (day), UTB found a couple that actually seems to make dating in college look easy. As Distrito knows, Halloween is just one big pregame for the real fall holiday– Dia de los Muertos! The campus favorite is not going to let the Day of the Dead slide by without a party. Much like the Cinco de Mayo events they’ve had in the past, they’ll be running specials all day and even have a DJ at night.
The best part? Some of the proceeds go to Puentes de Salud, a health-based nonprofit for area Hispanics.

Move over, Mad4: looks like there’s a new chica in town. Jose Garces’s University City outpost Distrito is opening a new student-friendly Cantina that will replace their first floor dining space this fall.
Offering fruity cocktails for $5, $2-3 mexican beers and a reduced priced food menu, the Cantina at Distrito is scheduled to open on August 31. And unlike their margarita-pumping competitors to the east, these prices will be available every day after 4 p.m. without any sort of annoying happy hour cut-off time. This is even better than the student special they offered in the spring!
