For students participating in early move in, Penn has officially postponed the date from Sunday, August 28 to Monday, August 29 due to Hurricane Irene’s plans to wreak havoc on the East Coast this weekend. Penn also advises that students traveling from far distances within the next few days should delay their plans until the storm has cleared. Public Safety will be frequently updating their website with safety precautions for those bracing the storm in Philly. Stay inside and be safe, everyone!
Yo, the weather is seriously whack in Philly. Earlier, we received a heat advisory email from Facilities Services, and the next thing we know we’ve got hurricane-force winds blowing stuff down everywhere. If the rumors are true, pieces of DRL’s roof have flown off and live squirrels were being tossed around. If you have pictures to confirm that (or more tornado tales) send us what you’ve got!
The title was a little alarming, warning Seniors to “Pick Up College Graduation Dangerous Weather Tickets.” While this could also sound like a really cool concert, perhaps an additional graduation perk, it’s really just a little premature graduation preparation:
Your guests will need these tickets only if severe weather and dangerous conditions (continuous downpour and lightning) necessitate moving the ceremony to the Palestra, where space is limited.
As if navigating parents and siblings and g-parents around campus wasn’t hard enough, now Penn is asking us to choose our two favorite. The horrors!
