AWESOME!

Viral Vocabulary. You use it all the time, even if you don't know what it is. (That is, if you've ever said "epic fail" or "F My Life".) It's that thing you say at first as a joke and then completely by accident. In fact, you can hear yourself use and abuse the term as it makes the inevitable evolution from "hilarious addition to the lexicon" to "most annoying saying on the planet" in a matter of months. Our current favorite viral vocab word? "Awesome."

You might be thinking awesome isn't all that new. People have been saying awesome since, literally, the dawn of time, back in the day when things went down that actually inspired awe. But now awesome is everywhere, like Barack Obama and those obnoxious kids from Twilight. It is a muscle that can be flexed for occasions both serious and sarcastic. For proof that awesome has finally come into its own, look no further than 1000AwesomeThings.com, a blog that cherishes the awesome that even the average among us can experience: "When someone gives you their last piece of gum." "The five second rule." "The day when you first realize you can drive." "Ugly actors." UTB isn't on the list yet, but they're counting down from 1000 and are only up to #705.
