For The Love Of Cheese

The post-graduate summer is supposed to filled with travel, adventure and excitement. After all, you'll be working for the next 45 years of your life, so you may as well live it up before capital-R Responsibilities kick in. So today we salute Brennan Votel, C'09/varsity basketballer/all-around awesome dude, for what must be The Best Summer Activity of All Time: the Annual Cheese Rolling Competition in Gloucester, England.
Never heard of it? Yeah, neither had we. But lucky for us, the folks over at ESPN produced a nice little segment on the event in which 7000 spectators watch participants tumble down a 250-foot cliff in hot pursuit of a 7.5 lb. wheel of Double Gloucester cheese.
Votel gets some good face time in the segment, particularly at 0:56 when he asks his buddy to toss him a cold one, and then again at 5:10 when he gamely gets interviewed by the ESPN crew. We leave you with his wise quote: "It's good to take one to the face every once and a while. I think it's fair to say that just happened."
We can't embed this video (thanks ESPN!), but you can (and should) check it out here.
