Let's All Go To This Comic Convention

Though we have a place in our hearts for The Hulk (how do his pants stay on?) and Zits (teenagers!), our true comic book love lies with DIY zines full of scribly lines and shy, heartbroken guys. Lucky for us, the first Philadelphia Alternative Comic Con is this Sunday at the 941 Theater (941 N. Front St.) from 12-6 p.m.
With a guest list made up of the city's most exciting indie cartoonists, the show should be full of the kinds of handmade comics we dig so much. Everyone exhibiting should have plenty of awesome books, but we especially recommend checking out local artists Box Brown, Sally Bloodbath and Charles Burns (right), all of whom will be selling and signing books.
