Choose Your Own (Performing Arts) Adventure!

option2

There’s no dearth of talented people at Penn, and with the springtime comes the inevitable flood of spring performances.

“But UTB,” you may lament, “how can I possibly get to all the shows? I’m so bogged down with flyers I can barely walk! They’re all the same weekend!”

Never fear, UTB shows you how to make the most of your time after the jump!

The Master Schedule:

Friday, April 2nd: 7:00 p.m.: Penny Loafers, Iron Gate Theater (37th and Chestnut) 8:00 p.m.: The Excelano Project, Dunlop Auditorium (3450 Hamilton Walk) 8:00 p.m..: Counterparts, Penn Museum (3260 South Street) 9:00 p.m.: Strictly Funk, Iron Gate Theater (37th and Chestnut)

Saturday, April 3rd:

6:00 p.m.: Dzine2Show Fashion Show, Penn Museum (3260 South Street) 7:00 p.m.: Penn Masala, Irvine Auditorium (3401 Spruce) 7:00 p.m.: Penny Loafters, Iron Gate Theater (37th and Chestnut) 8:00 p.m.: The Excelano Project, Dunlop Auditorium (3450 Hamilton Walk) 8:00 p.m.: Counterparts, Penn Museum (3260 South Street) 8:00 p.m.: Dzine2Show Fashion Show II, Penn Museum (3260 South Street) 9:00 p.m.: Strictly Funk, Iron Gate Theater (37th and Chestnut)

The Master…uhh Grand Plan:

Option 1: only catch a bit of every show. That’s kind of dumb, but if you’re determined, go for it. Artists suffer for their craft, you can too.

Go to Penny Loafers and Excelano on Friday night. The latter is at 34th, which makes it easier than Counterparts to haul BACK to 37th and Chestnut for Funk at 9. You should probably sit by an aisle for easier departure.

Saturday, start off at 6 with DZine2Show, then speed to Irvine (not that far from the Museum) to catch Masala right at 7. Do not sit down from your standing ovation, because you’ll need to hurry back down to the Museum for Counterparts at 8.

Option 2: Pick and choose. To be most efficient, pick one from Penny Loafers, Excelano, or Counterparts Friday night, then:

Dzine2Show (probably still have to leave early) –> Masala –> Funk.

Option 3: Time Machine!

Voilá! You’re cultured!
