Ladies, Meet Your 2010 Foxes of Finance (Penn Alum Edition)

19196

For those of you currently on track to

finish up the last few credits of your MRS degrees: New York magazine has released its 2010 installment of the annual Foxes of Finance series. This year, 15 of the most successful, well-rounded money-grubbers in New York were profiled, and three of them are Penn alums (imagine that!). Using a rigorous and highly scientific rating scale (factors sometimes include age, personality traits highlighted by the article, and dating history, among others), we've ranked the bachelors from least to most attainable/desirable for current students and recent graduates of our fine institution. Think of Penn as good conversation fodder - you've already got something in common! Because it's never too early to start your trophy wife game, just follow our advice, claw your way over some like-minded competitors, and you'll be on your way to the gilded wedding you've always dreamed of in no time. Check out the rankings after the jump.

3. The number three spot on our list goes to 37 year old Josh Birnbaum, the founder and CIO of Tilden Park Capital Management. Birnbaum got into the subprime mortgage game early, and made a pretty penny doing so. However, his involvement in that tainted section of the industry (he had to testify in front of Congress!) earned him some big minus points, as did his advanced age. As far as our ranking system is concerned, neither of those things are adequately outweighed by his Soho apartment and (probably) gaudy Hamptons manse.

2. Ranking number 2 on our list (and number 3 on NYMag's) is Josh Fink, the 32 year old founder of a hedge fund called Enso Capital Management. Lucrative stuff, no doubt, but it's not like he was particularly hard up for cash to begin with - his father is the founder of BlackRock, and that's money in the bank! Sadly, he failed to clinch the number one spot due to the terrifying fact that his dating history includes something called a "Bianna Golodryga," which sounds horifically sinister and vengeful.

1. This brings us to the (recently) 40 y.o. Charles Keates!

Sure, he's a geeze, but get this - his $9 billion investment firm is located in nearby Newtown Square, putting him that much further within your money-hungry reach! Keates has a veritable butt-ton of advanced degrees, so you shouldn't have to feel like you're sacrificing high-minded intellect for a cash payout. To top it off, he's got memberships at all sorts of clubs around town, and, in a move that makes him that much more zeigeist-y, he's got a house at the Jersey Shore. Bada-bing indeed.
