People Who Went to Penn: Gregg Spiridellis

Remember that viral video, “This Land,” from the 2004 Presidential election? It came from the creative mind of Gregg Spiridellis, WG ‘99. After working at Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns and receiving a Wharton MBA, he received numerous job offers. What did he decide to do? Turn them all down.
Instead, Spiridellis, along with his brother, co-founded JibJab. The start-up produced eCards and interactive rap videos, which were great ways for family members to prove they understood how to use the internet. Their video “This Land,” was viewed by everyone everywhere from CNN to Jay Leno to the International Space Station.
While many similar websites have come about since its inception, JibJab is still going strong. Go ahead. Put Amy Gutmann's head in there. Thanks to Spiridellis, you can definitely avoid studying for the next hour or so. Or just watch our take after the jump!
