UMOJA's got the Mojo

UMOJA Week just got way more fun because Russell Simmons is coming to town! The "hip hop mogul" (and ex-husband of Kimora Lee, duh) is coming to the Arch Building at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6) to talk about his new book, "Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All." Considering he's the founder of Phat Farm, Def Jam Records and one third of Run-DMC, we'd say he's done ok in that department.
UMOJA's website boasts that "the purpose of UMOJA is to unite student groups of the African Diaspora through effective collaboration, increased political representation and the dissemination of information," so yes, Simmons is definitely the man to do so.
UMOJA week ends tomorrow with a gala but this one costs a whopping $20. Maybe we'll skip that and head to the after party in Hall of Flags for only $3.
