People Who Went to Penn: Whitney Cummings

Have you ever been in a relationship? Have you and your significant other had disagreements, but worked through these situations with a healthy dose of comedy? Is your last name sexually suggestive?
Well too bad, because College ‘04 alum Whitney Cummings already filled that slot in NBC’s Fall '11 Thursday primetime comedy lineup with her new show Whitney. Don’t bother pitching a sitcom based on your hilariously quirky life to CBS either because they've reportedly picked up another one of Whitney's pilots, Two Broke Girls, to be produced by Sex and the City's Michael Patrick King. Girl is on fire!
This was no stroke of luck, however: Whitney's propulsion into the network comedy limelight has certainly been a long time...Cumming(s). Not only has she appeared on critically-acclaimed programs such as Punk'd and Chelsea Lately and played a supporting role in the classic film Made of Honor, she's also starred in her very own one-hour comedy special Whitney Cummings: Money Shot. We have high hopes for her new shows (by which we mean please don't get canceled after three episodes). Chalk another one up for Penn funny ladies. YOU GO GIRLS!
