Penn Grads "Charge" Forward

Sandra Rubinchik Friday, June 3, 2011Fri, Jun 3, 2011

Recent College grads Meredith Perry '11 and Nora Dweck '11 have paired up to create the uBeam, a handy dandy gadget that remotely and wirelessly charges all of your electronic devices without having to plug them in.

Perry, the brains behind the technology, explains in layman's terms how the uBeam works using ultrasound frequencies and then demonstrates the wireless magic. Dweck delineates the business aspect, expressing her hope that one day uBeam charge stations will be available just like WiFi. "Starbucks, if you're out there, we'd like to partner with you!" Spoken like a true Penn student.
