Union Transfer To Be The New Spaghetti Warehouse

Picture-24

Grab 599 of your closest friends, some cheap beer and get ready to party--there's a new music venue in town, and it kind of looks really freaking awesome.

Set to open September 21st (perfect opportunity to neglect all post-NSO assignments), Union Transfer will replace what was formerly the Spaghetti Warehouse at 10th and Spring Garden.  Unlike many of the music venues currently scattered around Philly, what makes Union Transfer so exciting is its amenities:

  • can easily accommodate 600 people (and expands to 1,000 if necessary)
  • AIR-CONDITIONING (if you've ever been to a show at First Unitarian Church, you know that hot, sweaty and drunk people dancing in Bill Cosby sweaters does not a comfortable experience make)
  • mezzanine level with a balcony
  • plenty of parking spaces and more than 150 bike racks
  • and finally, open to all ages (but the over 21 crowd gets prime viewing privileges from a raised platform, so you might want to bring along your doctored passport copy)
Sure, you could just walk to World Cafe Live or The Rotunda to satisfy your cravings for live music and caribbean jerk chicken, but the lineup at Union Transfer looks worth the trek if you're into dance-your-pants-off indie rock.
