Our Two Favorite Things: Apps And Saving Lives

The best part of our day is when Penn folks use the power of technology to better humanity. The MyHeartMap Challenge, set to launch in September, hopes to put crowd-sourcing to even better use than telling you about good bars.
PennMed made an app to harness the power of user submission to create an effective location database of AEDs, the boxes with defibrillators that can be essential during a heart attack. Apparently, people have no idea where these are, and there's currently no way to track them down-- until now!
If the idea of helping save lives isn't enough to get you to join their effort in the fall, there's a chance to win cash prizes for those who spot the most boxes. You go, Penn Med, with your win-win situations!
