It's Biden Time

BIDEN

In case you missed it, Joe Biden made a stop on campus today as part of the Presidential three-day tour of the country, to speak out about the Jobs bill.  As a result, he spent most of the time discussing how the passing of the Jobs bill would help increase Philadelphia's police force and lower the crime rate.  In addition to Biden, Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter was on hand, as well as various city and law enforcement officials.

First, Biden held a round table discussion with Mayor Nutter and other city officials.  He thanked everyone for showing up and gave Amy Gutmann a shoutout, saying he was "happy to be here and not be paying tuition!"

After their private pow-wow with Uncle Joe, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and other officials made their way over to Houston for the big speech.

Bodek Lounge was packed as everyone waited for the VPOTUS to arrive.

Once Joe Biden got there, he did not disappoint.

He spoke with emotion.

And a lot..

...we mean a lot...

...of hand gestures.

After his speech, he made his way out through the crowd.  He was posing for pictures and kissing babies hugging freshmen.  We also heard him mention something about his granddaughter coming to Penn, so maybe we'll be seeing more of him on campus in the future.
