Raid Raid Raid

In what may be terrifying news for all the youngins out there still skating past Blarney bouncers with a library card that suspiciously claims you're 21, a huge raid went down at Blockley last night. Undercover liquor agents issued citations to 40 students from Penn, Drexel, and St. Joe's for underage drinking and either cited or arrested four bartenders for not carding.

The liquor agents had been tipped and staged the raid, waiting for the students when they arrived around 10p.m. last night. It isn't clear what tip was, but it may have something to do with the fact that a bunch of these kids arrived in a chartered bus. The bar was shut down for the rest of the night.

The biggest question, aside from the obvious "Who the hell charters a party bus to go to Blockley?", is if the raid has any implications for increasing strictness at other campus bars. Since Penn's favorite watering holes actually care to keep up an air of legitimacy and aren't dumb enough to let in kids without carding, we're not too fearful of the LCB staging a coup at Smoke's anytime soon. But the next group of kids that buses it to Copa Wednesday gets their picture on a wall of shame.
