Monday Is Penn's Day Of Service
January 11, 2012 at 8:45 pm
Monday, January 16, marks the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Known nationally as a day of service, Monday is known by most students as day without lecture. Which is nice! But why not spend that time doing something a little more meaningful than watching reruns of "Gossip Girl" with a bag of SunChips?
Penn has a full schedule of activities planned not only for this Monday but this entire month! On Monday, volunteers are needed between the hours of 8:30 and 2 to participate in various campus and community initiatives, including student mentoring, West Philadelphia beautification projects and other events. The day culminates in a candlelight vigil that starts at 7 at DuBois. Check the calendar in the link above for more presentations, film screenings and lectures.
