Red And Blue And Green All Over

Kudos all around to Penn for winning the College University Green Power Challenge for the fifth year in a row! The Environmental Protection Agency announced that Penn beat 72 other schools in a competition to use the highest percentage of green power. Our tradeoff this year is equal to the greenhouse gas emissions from 27,000 cars.
If the past four years of winning didn’t tip off a likely victory, Penn’s continued commitment to environmental consciousness should have been a hint. The recent opening of Weiss Pavilion marked the fifth LEED-certified building on campus and we even have an official-sounding Climate Action Plan.
So, like, totally don’t feel bad about plugging in your computer for the next 108 hours or keeping every light and electronic device in your room running to prevent you from falling asleep. 48% of that energy is green and guilt-free.
