Five Things You Should Know About Arlen Specter

Losing a professor is always a huge blow to the community, especially when that professor is your own. But the legacy left by former five-term Senator and Penn Law faculty member Arlen Specter, who passed away yesterday at the age of 82, is unparalleled. Here are 5 things you should know about his career:

1) He's sorta like Ben Franklin. According to former Gov. and Penn faculty member Ed Rendell, Specter "did more for the people of Pennsylvania over his more than 30 year career with the possible exception of Benjamin Franklin." Wow.

2) He worked on Obama's 2009 stimulus package, even though he was a Republican.

3) He worked on the Warren Commission, investigating the JFK murder. (But really, it was a single bullet).

4) And when Bill Clinton "did not" have "sexual relations" with that "woman," he helped the Prez get acquitted.

5) Remember when that Philly-area school took webcam pics and vids of highschool-ers "eating" "candy" in front of their computers? Specter worked on that one, too.
