Forget formatting your resumé and OCR— your time is better spent blurring out any trace of Franzia in your Facebook cover photos.

According to a joint study by Penn and Michigan, people who are merely HOLDING an alcoholic beverage are often perceived as less intelligent than ones who are not. Research shows that "job applicants who ordered wine during dinner were seen as less intelligent and capable as candidates who ordered soda." It's hard to imagine a scenario in which you get to partake in a little wine & dine with a potential employer, but then again, the business world never ceases to surprise us.
