What's HapPENNing?
September 21, 2015 at 9:00 am
It's somehow already the fourth week of classes, yet you're only just starting to get your shit together. We're right there with you, because it took us until now to crank out this semester's first What's HapPENNing? post. Without further ado, we present Fall '15's inaugural edition of your fave Monday feature, which includes five can't-miss events on campus, plus a Philly Pick of the Week (which will presumably take place off-campus).
U.S. Senator Mark Pryor at Penn
When? Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Where? SHDH 351
Why? What if he announces he's ALSO joining the presidential race? (Oh, and free Wishbone.)
Bring? Patience. The only people more annoying than Wharton kids with back-to-back info sessions are politically correct IR majors.
GradFest2015 Presents: Outdoor Movie Night
When? Tuesday, 8 p.m.
Where? Shoemaker Green
Why? We know we're not the only ones who wish we lived in the '50s.
Bring? That dreamy fella Danny! We heard you two are going steady.
When? Thursday, 3 p.m.
Where? College Green
Why? PB&J sammies + Kweder – sweaty Smoke's dance floor? The solution to that equation is something we wholeheartedly endorse.
Bring? Jif, in case they only have Skippy. Better yet, let's #tbt to this treat of yesteryear.
When? Thursday, 7 p.m.
Where? Williams 321
Why? Paying for another four years of school is going to be a bitch, so we'll happily take free advice (and pizza!).
Bring? Complaints! Your peers will love to hear that even though you're both applying to the same number of law schools, you're obviously more stressed than them.
Sukkah + Origami + Ice Cream Sandwiches
When? Friday, 2 p.m.
Where? Hillel
Why? To revel in the hilarity that is Hillel taking advantage of us having no class because of the Pope's visit to host a Sukkot event.
Bring? Glitter! Channel your inner second-grader and let your creative juices flow while decorating campus' sukkah.
Philly Pick of the Week
When? Saturday, 12 p.m.
Where? Citywide
Why? To make those security checkpoints a li'l more fun! The police definitely won't consider your blackout self a threat.
Bring? Rosary beads. Because if you think the best way to honor the Pope's arrival is by imbibing copious amounts of alcohol, then you need a prayer or two.
