Pro/Con/Pro: At Least You're Pretty, Fisher Fine Arts

When strolling down Locust, it's hard to miss Fisher Fine Arts. The façade is striking and its interior is no less impressive – but is it all looks and no substance? UTB investigates.

Atmosphere:

  • + It’s beautiful.
  • - Distractingly so.
  • + There are cryptic (profound?) phrases etched into windows all around Fisher. So, even though you can’t focus on that paper for your writing seminar, at least you can feel as if you’re doing something meaningful when you try to decipher said questionably profound phrases.

Functionality:

  • + It’s perfectly silent, which is great for getting work done.
  • - You can’t breathe. You can’t shift in your seat. You can’t even exist without receiving glares from at least 17 other people in the room.
  • + You look super Ivy League doing homework in Fisher. It’s all about image, people.

Overall Pleasantness:

  • + It’s pretty!
  • You will inevitably run into everyone you know, especially on a Sunday afternoon when you’re hungover and haven’t yet bathed.
  • + It’s still pretty!

As lovely as Fisher may be, studying there takes a thick skin and a strong focus. Enter at your own risk, but if you do, don’t forget to take some autumnal photos!
