Who's REALLY Coming For Fling?

Let's face it: you're cold, your skin is dry, and you're already ahead of yourself thinking about April, or how to waste time until Spring Break. Which is why it's never too early to speculate about the 2016 Spring Fling artist! With SPEC's talent budget usually hovering around $180,000, here are some of the many possibilities for this year's Fling performer.
Nickelback – $350-500k: Because nothing says Fling like sexy, post-grunge Chad Kroeger. They haven’t released a real song since 2009, but who says they won’t write an album between now and then just for us?
Fantasia and Clay Aiken – $185,000k total: Sweet! The booking fees for these two artists combined falls right in the range of the SPEC budget. Why not get two for the price of one? Supposedly the two are working on a collaborative album in light of American Idol’s 345th season ending this year.
Martina McBride – $125-175k: Get out your lighters and start swaying ‘em, folks, because we’re bringing country-pop to Fling for the first time ever. What a treat!
Susan Boyle – $150-250k: This Britain’s Got Talent operatic-pop superstar is still making music! Her act also includes an 80-person church choir.
Billy Ray Cyrus – $40-50k: If SPEC has a tight budget, this is the way to go. Billy Ray announced the release of his “solo patriotic album” titled I’m American in 2010, only to release another album in 2012 titled Changed My Mind – so you can only imagine how he’s feeling.
Frank Ocean – $100-150k: Well...we wouldn’t want to have Frank say he’s coming to Fling months in advance only to have him not show up 2 days before the show.
Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco – $200k total: Special BOGO price! Why live in the now when you can re-live the 2008 Vans Warped Tour?
Ying Yang Twins & Soulja Boy – $30-45k: For only a little more than someone would pay for textbooks every year, we could spend Spring Fling with this dope new collab. Extra speakers to hear the Twins’ inaudible murmurs not included.
