Pro/Con/Pro: Studying In Your Room

We are in the midst of reading days. Some people may go home, others might board a plane to the Bahamas. But the majority of us staying here have to ask ourselves a most difficult question: where to study? VP and Huntsman are always suffocatingly packed, so we decided to hash out an age-old, though slightly more unorthodox choice: Your Own Room.

Meredith: My bed is my sanctuary. Why wouldn’t I want to study there during this dark and stormy time?

Rebecca: Reading days are meant to be hell. Literal actual hell. And we have to work to bring your GPA up from the ashes. Do you really think that John Legend took cat naps?

M: GPA is just a number. Besides, if we're honest, how realistic is a 4.00?

R: It’s realistic if you're studying in the right environment: surrounded by other high-achieving, baggy-eyed, caffeine-guzzling people. Solidarity will help you focus.

M: The only person you can and should rely on for motivation is yourself. A little thing called Empowerment. Speaking of empowerment, what other study spot could you take an hour break to watch Lemonade without getting judged or, worse, interrupted?

R: Nah- As John Donne said, "no man is an island... every man is a piece of the [basement of van pelt]." Finals are too much to go through alone. In VP, we can cry together. In Fisher, we can cry together silently.

M: Eh sorry but my bed is calling. Feel free to hang out in my room though!

R: Fine. But I wanna be the little spoon. And you have to read my textbook to me in a storytelling voice.
