Junior Is One Minute Late To OCR Info Session, Doesn't Get Job

Jon Dietrich (W'18) thought that he had it all: a briefcase, daily GSR reservations, and a truly-refined LinkedIn profile. He felt like he was on top of the world. "It was only natural that I begin my quest to ascend to Wall Street glory at the OCR information session for Goldman Sachs," Dietrich told UTB. He continued, saying, "I wanted to go into 'investment banking'. I'm not sure of what that would entail, but I'm positive that it's exactly what I want to do with my life."

Then, that fateful morning, everything went wrong. Dietrich couldn't find his lucky tie. He explained that, "it asserted power and wisdom, I'd be a fool not to wear it to the most important information session of my life." By the time he found it, it was already too late.

The info session started at 10:00am. Dietrich arrived at 10:01am. Upon arrival, Dietrich was taught a lesson. "The rep told me that on-time is late, early is also late (but less late), and late is hardly on time," he lamented. Dietrich was told that there was no place for him at Goldman Sachs and to get a better tie.
