In the diverse and highly competitive world of Penn food trucks, it’s becoming harder and harder to differentiate from the pack. But one wayward but intrepid businessman is looking to break the mold and revolutionize dining in University City. Just a week after leaving its old location on Walnut Street, the former Capogiro is making its triumphant, completely reimagined return as a Gelato-Halal fusion food cart.

“We hired a Wharton marketing major to help us restructure and identify emerging spaces on campus that are primed for new business. When halal carts started jacking up prices our consultant came up with this brilliant idea which he said would 'disrupt the market, boost synergy, appeal to Millennials and improve our SEO,'” Capogyro’s new manager Harold Springer told us, while offering free samples of the cart's new "white sauce" flavored gelato.

Some people might be skeptical of the cart’s exotic and adventurous new menu, which also includes items like chocolate chip cookie dough gelato over rice, a strawberry sorbet on pita, and shaved bits of frozen lamb in a paper cup, but it's only a matter of time before an inevitable NowThis Food video brings a flood of business to the new cart. Be sure to get there early, because the line for this spot is definitely going to stretch around the block!
