OP-ED: Roommate Used Three Bottles of My Argan Oil Conditioner But Venmo Charged Me $0.45 For an Aleve

My roommate and I get along well, I think, but sometimes I get a little annoyed at how he acts. I don’t know if I’m a bad roommate for thinking this, but hear me out.

My roommate ran out of conditioner back in October and he’s been using mine ever since. Argan oil conditioner is expensive. I’ve gone through three bottles because he pours it on his chest hair and pubes to make them shinier for his "friends with benefits." Which is nice, I guess, but I’m pretty sure he also uses my towel to dry them, which is less nice.

I try to be nice to him anyway. I told him that “what’s mine is yours,” and that he was welcome to use any of my stuff as long as he asked. But sometimes, I think he may be taking advantage of my kindness.

Like, the other day, he took my newly purchased protein shakes and sold them to his friend so he could buy Adderall. Then, a few days ago, I took a single tablet of Aleve from his drawer—and today he Venmo charged me $0.45. The worst part is, I had bought him that bottle of Aleve when he was sick. I already have a negative Venmo balance from spotting him on the cleaning fine he was charged after puking in our Uber last week.

I really think he is being a dick. I’ve heard horror stories of shitty roommates, but mine is just unbelievable. It’s just my luck that I get the most inconsiderate, stingy, rude roommate from hell. I’m probably breaking up with him soon anyway. I don’t think it was meant to be.
