College sophomore Alexis Tremblay was woken up by natural light peaking through her blinds. She looked out her window, saw the blue sky and swaying trees, and thought, “Wow. I’m lucky to be here at Penn. I have a lot to be thankful for and I am excited to take on this day.”
With that thought, she jumped out of bed and looked at her alarm clock, which read 7:15 a.m. She knew what this meant: time for her daily green kombucha. So, she sipped on her glass-bottled elixir while reading the Skimm from her phone, and by 7:45 she was getting ready to go to the gym.
She enjoyed an 8 a.m. spin class, and walked home, even happier than before. “Wow,” she thought again. “I am happy.”
She passed a group of anxious freshmen rushing to a 9 a.m. in DRL. “Miserable fucks,” she pondered. “I am so much happier than they are.”
