Progressive Slap Cup Rule Update Replaces Bitch Cup With Meanie Cup

The American Society of Slap Cup (ASSCup) announced Friday that they had updated the rules of the popular drinking game Slap Cup to reflect calls for a more progressive game.

Now, the cup-slapping on which the entire game is based will be switched out in favor of “stern talking-tos,” ASSCup stated in its press release. In addition, the final cup, known since the game’s inception as the "bitch cup," will now take the name "meanie cup," to avoid using offensive language.

Penn students had mixed reactions to the change in the game’s terminology. 

One Penn Democrats member said he appreciated the new names, noting that “This will hopefully and most likely end sexism and violence in the United States.”

However, a writer for the Penn Statesman disagreed, saying, “It’s clear George Soros is behind this anti-democratic embarrassment of a rule. What’s next, we have to pray to Barack Obama the entire time?”
