OP-ED: I'm Passionate About Math, Unless I Get a B on This Midterm

At a pre-professional place like Penn, people have trouble looking past salary figures when justifying their career choices. This needs to change. College is the time for discovering your passions! For instance, I love math more than anything else in the world. I’m so deliriously passionate that nothing could ever sway me, not even an A- on Friday’s midterm.
But a B? Hoo boy.
Really, you just need to put yourself out there. Try new things! As long as you can keep your 4.0, the world’s your oyster.
Caring makes you vulnerable. You’ll identify with your new passion, and failures will become personal. Right then, when it’s hardest, you need to remind yourself why you chose this path.
Me? Well, it just makes me so uncontrollably happy. I-
Oh, what’s that? Chem’s going to curve to a high A- this semester?
Like I was saying, you need to find something that gets you up in the morning. For me, it's literature. That's why I'm now a proud English major.
