College senior Greg McBriar’s academic performance is mediocre as always, but his Feb Club participation is flawless. He is experiencing an unparalleled amount of drive that he had not yet embodied during his time at Penn: he must make it on to the Smoke’s plaque.
“It’s crazy. I just have these intrinsic and extrinsic motivators to attend all the Feb Club events, even the kinda shitty ones. In my heart, I know that I can make it on the plaque, and I will do everything it takes to get my name on that list,” said McBriar as he was putting off studying for his upcoming midterms.
“I’ve never wanted something more in my life. This would be such a prestigious honor — you bet I’d put it on my resume,” he continued. McBriar’s friends and family reported that he has never once mentioned the idea of earning a spot on the Dean’s List.
“In 20 years, I want to look back and tell myself that I accomplished something tangible, something that everyone else in my class was gunning for and working so hard towards. This is it,” McBriar added.
