Rejoice! Jubilate! Praise be! Hallelujah!
This lovely spring weather has done so much for the Penn community. Students are doing homework outside, tossing a disk in the quad, and breaking out their hammocks on college green. But none of that compares to spring’s greatest bestowal: we all get to see Jack Brannon’s (C ’22) toes now.
After months and months of being held captive by the prison that is closed toed shoes, Jack is finally able to grace us all with his two-year-old pair of Birkenstocks that proudly display his size 11 feet.
Count yourself lucky if you find yourself in a class with Jack. When he’s feeling extra spicy, he slips off his ‘stocks and really puts it all out there. There is truly nothing like seeing a slightly dirty, long-toed, bare foot dangling below the desk next to you, especially when he is a little behind on his grooming.
It's also so special to be able to see the dark foot prints in his Birkenstocks. You know it took years of sweat and dirt to create that footprint, and, if that's not symbolic of the beauty of life, then I don't know what is.
Be sure to catch a glimpse before this nice weather ends and Jack returns to his classic Asics.
