RSVP to Mousewarming on Partiful—The Mice Living in My Walls Are Also Hosting a Housewarming

Yeah, you read that right. There are mice in my walls. They live there. They don’t sound like they’re moving out any time soon. Sooooo RSVP to their Mousewarming!!!

When I sent out my Partiful invite for my housewarming, as I’ve just moved into the home I now share with an unknown quantity of mice, they grew jealous. So maybe that means my new roomies and I started off on the wrong foot (or paw–sorry I had to) but honestly I think now that they’ve sent out their own housewarming invite, we’re on our way to making amends.

My new mice friends are honestly pretty chill. They stay within the walls (thank god) and they have been doing me the favor of acting as my alarm clock. No need for boring and overused one on my iPhone anymore, they squeak away right when I need to wake up in the morning—sometimes even earlier so I can really get a head start on my day. How kind!

Now, some of you might be thinking “that’s so scary,” “I can’t imagine having mice in my walls,” “I would call pest control immediately,” “how is this girl so calm about mice in her walls?” “how are the mice surviving in the walls?” “do I have mice in my walls?” and so on. I highly encourage you to reframe your thought process. My new mice friends have been the victims of judgment and stereotypes by many who are shocked to hear of my current situation. But I’ve chosen to embrace my unexpected roommates turned friends.

They have graciously extended an invite to their own housewarming, and honestly it’d be pretty rude of you, reader, to see this and not attend. If you can somehow find your way into the walls that hold up my home, the mice will gladly host you.
